The Haute-Saône is the leading French department for standing oak timber. Our hardwood oak is very highly rated and increasingly sought after in the cooperage trade.
Its growth is slow and regular, it is light-coloured, fine-grained and soft.
It is particularly watertight, with very low porosity, and produces an excellent, mellow tannin.
We provide nearly 2,000 cubic meters of oak logs per year to coopers in the Burgundy and Bordeaux regions.
